When Las Vegas, Nevada-based Hard Rock/Post-Grunge upstarts Adelitas Way unleashed their self-titled debut upon a largely-unsuspecting public in 2009, few could have accurately predicted the tidal wave of success that would follow in its ever-widening wake. Armed with a maddeningly infectious first single “Invincible” (which was later used as the official theme song for embattled ‘Sports Entertainment’ behemoth WWE Superstars) and a seemingly insatiable penchant for non-stop touring, nothing, it seemed, could stop the group’s quasi-atmospheric ascent. Now, having already shared a stage with the likes of Halestorm, Saliva and Theory Of A Deadman, to name only a few, Gold and multi-Platinum awards only seem inevitable. Some legends, it would seem, never truly die; they simply ‘roll’ with the inevitable changes, redefining and, more often than not, improving themselves as they age. Although the use of such a cliché may indeed seem contrived, it remains entirely appropriate when discussing improbably long-running London, England-born Progressive Rock icons Uriah Heep. Having issued a series of undeniably classic releases (most notably Very ‘eavy...Very ‘umble, Demons And Wizards, The Magician’s Birthday) and survived a veritable plethora of line-up changes and label turmoil that would have almost assuredly destroyed a lesser-dedicated act, the group now finds itself basking amid a well-deserved critical and commercial renaissance.
